The duality that exists between the heart and the mind can be bridged once you remain conscious and aware. Persistence will keep you on the right track. Try to stop when you feel overwhelmed by emotion. Breathe into the parts of the body where you feel the physical expression of the emotion.

As I write this, I feel excited for the life ahead—ready for the highs and the lows, and willing to greet each situation from a conscious state in the present moment. The mind is constantly full of thoughts. Attaching to negative thoughts creates suffering.

In my own path, I have found that what I thought were problems, was just me being tangled up in my mind. When I let all that go, there’s freedom here and now. Expectations are usually unreasonable. They are like laying a film on reality. When we can receive things clearly as they are, not through the veil of expectations, peace is possible. Right or happy – great to hear that message as much as possible.

Learn the important skill of not being offended by everything and everyone. A certain degree of mental and emotional detachment can be of the greatest importance when it comes to establishing inner peace and harmony. We do not have to dwell on every negative thought that comes into our hearts and minds. At times we have to “speak to our souls” to make sure our thoughts are lined up with the Word of God. I was suffering from depression until last month.

Just list 3 simple things about any part of your life that you love. Like “3 simple things I love about the room I'm in right now”, or “3 simple things I love about this week”, or anything else. What I do in such situation is go for a quick walk in the park , or just lie in bed reading a good Terry Pratchett book, listening to the rain beating on my window. At first nothing happens, but if you do it for hours or even days, you will soon feel the stress. When we Quran cannot find peace in the world, we should know that the world suffers a deficit of connection and compassion. Wherever love and empathy are appreciated, peace comes effortlessly.
